Posted on: Wednesday, 10 October 2007, 12:00 CDT
CIGNA Behavioral Health (CBH) announced today that it has been awarded Full Accreditation for its Regional Care Center located in Glendale, California by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). The accreditation is effective this month and extends for a three-year period.
NCQA is a nationally recognized organization that evaluates how well a health plan manages all parts of its delivery system to continually improve quality health care for its members. NCQA reviews include a rigorous on-site and off-site evaluation conducted by a team of physicians and managed care experts who evaluate physicians, hospitals, other providers and administrative services based on NCQA standards.
"CBH's Managed Behavioral Health Organization accreditation is proof that CBH is an organization which works hard to coordinate care, ensure access and provide good customer support for members," said NCQA president Margaret E. O'Kane.
"We're continually focused on improving the behavioral health of our members," said Keith Dixon, president and chief executive officer of CBH. "We are proud that the NCQA has recognized our excellence and has awarded our Glendale Regional Care Center full accreditation."
CBH also has three other regional care centers in Texas, Maryland and Minnesota. All three of these facilities also have Full Accreditation status from the NCQA. In addition to its accredited regional care centers, CBH offers its customers 24/7 online access to behavioral health specialists, online information about behavioral health issues, customized coaching and a clinical leadership team focused on integration of medical and behavioral health care.
