Magellan Health Services today announced that it has received exclusive endorsement from the American Hospital Association (AHA) for its NAVIGO suite of employee assistance, lifestyle coaching and productivity services. AHA Solutions, Inc. a subsidiary of the AHA, awards this endorsement to products and services that help member hospitals and health care organizations across the United States achieve organizational excellence. The AHA selected Magellan for this exclusive endorsement based on the depth of Magellan's experience, success in promoting behavior change, and targeted approach to optimizing hospital and health care employee performance.
"The doctors, nurses and other caregivers in America's hospitals face a unique set of workplace challenges that impact their own health and well-being," said Andrew Schoneich, assistant vice president, Corporate Development for AHA Solutions. "NAVIGO will help hospital employees better handle these challenges, ultimately leading to improvements in the care we provide to the patients we serve."
"We're delighted to have been selected for this endorsement," said Rick Lee, head of Magellan's Employer Solutions business unit. "Our NAVIGO services, including employee assistance, lifestyle coaching and multiple productivity-enhancing programs, have been specially customized for hospital and health care employees, because we believe it is essential that these caregivers -- the ones upon whom others always rely for comfort and healing -- can turn to an effective and tailored wellness support system of their own."
About NAVIGO: Magellan developed the NAVIGO suite of services to help its employer clients optimize employee productivity and manage health care costs by mitigating behaviors that lead to loss of workplace productivity and costly, chronic health conditions. NAVIGO services include healthy lifestyle coaching, productivity consulting and resources in areas such as absence and disability management, new parent return to work support, and critical incident stress management as well as traditional EAP services. A key component of NAVIGO is a participant-centric behaviorally based coaching methodology in which specially trained Magellan coaches apply scientifically based behavior modification techniques to help members focus on modifying their health risks by setting and attaining small, incremental goals.
