Prominent Farmington Plastic Surgeon Uses Two New Non-Surgical Procedures to Tighten Skin and Remove Fat

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- You want to remove some fat (cellulite) and also tighten your skin but, understandably, don't want to undergo surgery.
The Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Laser Center in Farmington Hills offers a combination of two new procedures used together to accomplish these goals -- without surgery.
What's more they can be performed simultaneously.
Dr. Michelle Hardaway, a prominent Farmington Hills plastic surgeon and owner of the Center, said the FDA-approved procedures are extremely effective, safe and patients return to their daily activities immediately.
Discussing VelaSmooth, one of the procedures, Dr. Hardaway said it removes fat near the skin's surface that cannot be removed by the more traditional surgical liposuction procedure.
"This machine, one of the few in the Detroit area, reduces skin dimpling (cellulite)," said Dr. Hardaway. She explained that VelaSmooth uses a combination of heat, infra-red light and suction.
"A patient would need treatments once a week for 8-10 weeks," she said.
VelaSmooth can be used to reduce fat -- called cellulite -- from buttocks, thighs, hips, abdomen, upper arms, "love handles" and "saddlebags."
Dr. Hardaway said the treatment is not painful, adding "patients may feel the suction and some warmth but they should be able to return to their normal activities immediately after the treatment."
