BENEFIT FEST: A harvest festival to benefit the Daniel’s Den Playground project will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Clipper Magazine Corporate office, Hempland and Donnerville roads.
Planned events include a chicken barbecue, silent auction, live entertainment, games, craft tent and a yard sale. Admission is free.
Daniel’s Den is a 12,000-square-foot playground designed especially for children with disabilities. It will be built in April near Manor Brethren in Christ Church in Manor Township.

CHURCH HISTORY: Myron Dietz, teacher of history and church history at Lancaster Mennonite High School, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at a meeting of the Strasburg Heritage Society in Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church, 101 S. Decatur St., Strasburg.
Dietz will explore the complex issues of religious persecution in Europe following the Protestant Reformation and the resulting migration of many to seek a new life in Pennsylvania.
The program is part of the Heritage Society’s preparations for the 300th anniversary of the 1710 European settlement in and around Strasburg.
The meeting is free and open to the public.
PREGNANCY LOSS: PALS, for anyone pregnant after a miscarriage, stillbirth or infant loss, will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the second-floor neuroconference room of the Lancaster General Health Campus, 2100 Harrisburg Pike.

SPOUSE LOSS: Hospice of Lancaster County’s PATHways Center for Grief & Loss will host “Coping with the Loss of a Companion or Spouse” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the center, 685 Good Drive.

GRIEF: A grief support group will be held for eight consecutive Tuesdays, beginning Oct. 16, at Bergstrasse Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9 Hahnstown Road, Ephrata. Meetings will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The group is open to anyone who is more than three months beyond the funeral of a loved one. The sessions will deal with the feelings and difficulties that result from death and will provide support and education.

WOMEN: The Hempfield Woman’s Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, Oak Leaf Manor, 2901 Harrisburg Pike.
