RESTON, Va., Oct. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Mirixa Corporation, a leading developer of innovative clinical and interactive solutions that facilitate pharmacist-based patient care services, today announced the immediate availability of RxFYI, a weekly published eNewsletter customized for each participating pharmacy. RxFYI is free to participating pharmacies and is intended to enhance patient loyalty and generate revenue.
"Patients want to learn more about their medications from their pharmacists. According to a recent Jupiter Research study, 80% of consumers are interested in receiving medication information from their pharmacy," says Donald W. Hackett, CEO, Mirixa. "With RxFYI, our pharmacy members can enhance their patient education services within their store and around the clock."
Leveraging Mirixa's technology, content and advertising networks, RxFYI publishes local pharmacy-generated content including the latest medication news, wellness features, weekly specials, adherence reminders and other pertinent information for their patients.
"Our mission is to be the most comprehensive provider of pharmacy and related health care services," said Ralph E. Petri Executive Vice President, Pharmacy and Logistics of Kerr Drug. "So it was an easy decision to utilize RxFYI. Not only do we generate revenue from the eNewsletter advertising, but most importantly, we are now able to provide our customers with valuable information 24/7."
The RxFYI eNewsletter is published weekly on behalf of each participating pharmacy's brand to all of their registered customers. Mirixa provides participating pharmacies with the editorial content, manages the advertising inventory and provides participating pharmacies with all the marketing tools to promote patient registration.
In a September 2007 report by eMarketer, by 2011 the pharmaceutical advertising category will account for $2.2 billion in ad spending. According to Bruce Roberts Executive Vice President and CEO of the National Community Pharmacists Association, "Mirixa, via RxFYI and other product offerings, is working to position independent pharmacies as a valuable place for advertisers to reach pharmacy audiences. In the past, independent pharmacies would have been overlooked and now we have a voice and it makes for good business."
