HealthTrans Sponsors Flu Shot Clinics in Partnership With Visiting Nurse Association
For the third year, HealthTrans, a pharmacy benefit administrator, is partnering with the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) to enable hundreds of Coloradans to receive flu shots. The VNA will be conducting flu shot clinics at multiple locations throughout the Greater Denver Area beginning Oct. 19 with the Project Homeless Connect event sponsored by Denver’s Road Home, Mile High United Way, Broncos and Denver Health and Human Services.
During the Project Homeless Connect event at INVESCO Field, the Visiting Nurse Association will administer as many as 300 flu shots, 200 of which are being underwritten by HealthTrans. The VNA flu clinics will continue throughout the fall and winter as a result of a $20,000 grant from HealthTrans.
“As a pharmacy benefits administrator, we’re a stakeholder in the attempt to lower costs while maintaining the quality of healthcare,” said Lou Hutchison, HealthTrans president. “We believe there’s a great need to help cover the uninsured in this country. This community has been good to us and we’re excited about having found a way that helps give back that fits in with our philosophy of managing healthcare.”
“We are most grateful for HealthTrans’ generous support because without it some of our most vulnerable residents, including our homeless neighbors, would be unable to receive protection,” said Gayle Davis, vice president of marketing and community relations for the Visiting Nurse Association.
