Health Insurance Umbrella to Cover All Citizens

“Restructure of the health insurance system and the new health insurance draft law target to achieve many principles mainly to extend its umbrella to cover all Egyptians instead of the current 40 per cent,”said Nazif during his meeting Tuesday 16/10/2007 with Minister of Health Hatem El-Gabaly and Chairman of the Health Insurance Authority Said Rateb to discuss the restructure of the health insurance system. He added the second principle is to extend its services nationwide especially after the modernization campaign launched by the Ministry of Health for 4000 health care units. Spokesman for the Cabinet Magdy Radi said Premier Nazif asserted that a clear-cut financial system will be drawn up under which subscriptions will be taken according to every citizen’s income.
