Dr. Joseph Johnson Named Vice President of Clinical Affairs and Medical Director for Clear Choice Health Plans, Inc.

Clear Choice Health Plans, Inc. is pleased to announce that Joseph Johnson, MD has accepted the position as Vice President of Medical Affairs and Medical Director for Clear Choice Health Plans. As a member of the executive team, Dr. Johnson will provide strategic clinical direction, oversee medical management and clinical quality, and develop programs to support relationships with the provider community and enhance quality across Clear Choice Health Plans' multi-state service area. Dr. Johnson joins Clear Choice Health Plans with over 20 years experience as a clinician and over 10 years experience as a health care executive.

Previously, Dr. Johnson held executive positions at Sierra Health Services, Sun Health Corporation and Sun Health MediSun. Dr. Johnson has also successfully lead startup operations, medical management programs, case management, disease management, continuity of care, utilization management, clinical quality improvement, network development and contracting. His most recent role was Senior Medical Director for Sierra Health Services and was responsible for all aspects of medical management, utilization management, prior authorizations, continuity of care, and clinical quality improvement.

Since 1995, Clear Choice Health Plans, Inc. has continuously developed affordable plans to meet the needs of employers, providers, and consumers. Clear Choice Health Plans offers health insurance, including Medicare Advantage plans, commercial plans, individual plans, and third party administration to individuals and businesses throughout Oregon. In January of 2008, the company will expand its geographical market area to include Montana.
