Vna Sets Flu Shot Schedule
By LIBBY KEELING, Courier & Press staff writer 464-7450 or keelingl@courierpress.com
The Visiting Nurse Association’s annual flu vaccination program will begin Monday at a variety of community sites in the Tri-State.
Vaccination is especially recommended for several risk groups, including people who are age 50 and older, have chronic medical conditions, are pregnant or work in health care professions as well as others who live with or care for someone in those risk groups.
The flu vaccine is available for $25 and the pneumonia vaccine for $40 through the VNA program. Medicare Part B is accepted.
Those age 9 or older may be vaccinated. Vaccination is not appropriate for individuals with severe egg allergies or people who have had an allergic reaction to a previous influenza vaccine.
For more information, call (800) 326-4862 or visit www.vnahc.org. This year VNA will offer flu and pneumonia shots at these locations:
