NASHVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The Valley Health System, soon to be a five-hospital system in Las Vegas, and Scottsdale Healthcare, representing three hospitals and several other healthcare facilities in Arizona, have tapped Aegis to bring valuable wellness programs to local employers. Aegis has been helping the nation's hospitals grow market share through employer-based wellness programs for nearly 20 years. Using Aegis' proprietary tools and proven methodology, hospitals are able to link their specific programs and services with the unique needs of employees in the communities they serve.
Through these agreements, Aegis will provide each system with a trained "employer relations specialist" that will work within the hospitals to oversee the program on a day-to-day basis. These employer relations specialists utilize such Aegis-developed tools as Health Information Centers, health-related displays located within the workplace; Personal Health Profiles, surveys of personal health history; and Personal Health Reports, detailed analyses of the data from the surveys.
The information collected from the Personal Health Profiles enables the hospitals at The Valley Health System and Scottsdale Healthcare to offer appropriate early detection, prevention and education initiatives. The program is designed to help improve employee health while reducing employer healthcare costs. Employers participating in these programs repeatedly recognize significant dollar savings in employee health costs, absenteeism, healthcare premiums, workers' compensation and other healthcare-related expenditures.
"The Aegis program complements the many noteworthy programs that both The Valley Health System and Scottsdale Healthcare are already offering to the communities they serve," said Henry Ross, Aegis CEO. "When hospitals proactively partner with local employers, it creates a triple win -- employees become healthier, employers are able to reduce health-related expenditures and the health systems take an even more active role in protecting and promoting the health of the local residents."
