Cath Lab Digest Launches iPad, Android OS Editions in October 2011

October 14, 2011

HMP Communications, a leader in healthcare communications, has announced the launch of Cath Lab Digest, a cardiac catheterization journal, on apps for the iPad and Android tablet devices.

Malvern, PA (PRWEB) October 14, 2011

Cath Lab Digest (CLD) â” http://cathlabdigest.com â” a popular monthly publication for cardiac catheterization laboratory professionals nationwide, will offer a digital-tablet edition (available via apps for Android devices and the iPad) in October. Digital subscribers will receive their issues the same day CLD mails â” before magazines hit mailboxes.

The CLD app will deliver the practical clinical content of the print edition, along with video content, in-text web links that can be browsed simultaneously, and interactive advertising. Rich media advertising in the October digital CLD will feature exclusive tablet app sponsorship from McKesson Provider Technologies, and video interviews and product animations from Cordis Corporation and MAQUET.

Readers need only search Appleâs App Store or the Android Marketplace for âœCath Lab Digest,â or go to http://www.cathlabdigest.com/tablet_apps to download. According to recent studies, about 20% of U.S. physicians were using the iPad alone by the end of 2010.(1) CLD publisher HMP Communications polled cardiology clinician readers of CLD and found 37% preferred to read medical publications on their tablets. Further, 17% say they plan to buy a tablet computer in the next 6 months, and 43% in the next year.

Cath Lab Digest readers are busy, and need information when they want it and how they want it,â said Jeff Martin, group publisher of the cardiology division of HMP Communications. “Adding tablet apps for CLD addresses readersâ needs â” and enhances the ways in which clinical and product information can be delivered. This interactivity is the future of medical publishing, and CLD is on the leading edge.â

CLDâs monthly featured cardiac cath lab and Dr. Morton Kernâs Clinical Editorâs Corner and interviews with leading researchers and interventionalists compel readers to return monthly to read about the hottest topics in interventional cardiology. CLDâs focus on educating professional cath lab staff has created a passionate community. A preview of the October issue:

  • âœTransradial Post Procedure Protocols,â Kenneth Gorski RN, RCIS, and Thomas H. Maloney, MHA, RCIS
  • âœCut to the Pace â” Transcoronary Pacing,â Cary Lunsford, RCIS, FSICP, and Laura Minarsch, RT(R), CVT
  • âœCase Report: AngioJet Rheolytic Thrombectomy in a Thrombotic Free Right Internal Mammary Artery Graft,â Michael S. Lee, MD, and William Finch, BS
