Orthofeet Previews Two Footwear Styles at Medtrade Expo

October 25, 2011

NORTHVALE, N.J., Oct. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Orthofeet, the premium brand of specialty footwear, announced the introduction of two casual footwear lines designed for people with diabetes and those who suffer from foot and mobility conditions. A new women’s classic shoe and an at-home slipper with advanced support will be showcased this week at Medtrade 2011, the largest national education and buying event for the home medical equipment (HME) market (Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, October 24-27).

“There is tremendous opportunity in the DME market for high-quality footwear for diabetic patients susceptible to foot problems including neuropathy and ulcers,” said Ron Bar, PhD., Orthofeet co-founder. “This market also includes older consumers with balance challenges and foot care issues. As the audience expands, we are committed to providing more choices in advanced footwear to enhance their quality of life.”

In their new women’s line, Orthofeet upgraded the classic Mary Jane style to include innovative comfort and biomechanical features:

  • Distinctive Heel-Strap allows the adjustment of the grip around the heel for a precise, comfortable fit
  • Stretchable upper design offers customized fit and pressure relief for bunions and swollen feet
  • Two-way padded strap enables fastening on either side of the shoe
  • Seamless lining enhances comfort and protection

The Mary Jane shoes are available in black, tan and burgundy.

The new Orthopedic Slippers are geared to patients who need more support and protection. These unique leather slippers integrate biomechanical features that are not available in any other slipper:

  • Multi-layer insoles that offer anatomical support and superior cushioning
  • Wide openings and strap closures for customized fit
  • Medium and wide widths for enhanced fit
  • Ergonomic Stride(TM) Soles that help propel the foot forward

For diabetic patients, the insoles can be replaced with their customized diabetic insoles. Slippers are available in men’s (brown) and women’s (camel) styles.
