Redwood City, CA (PRWEB) November 21, 2011
Ziosoft/Qi Imaging, the leader in supercomputing visualization and functional analytics, will showcase the companyâs PhyZiodynamics inVivo technology at the annual Radiology Society of North America Congress being held November 27 â“ December 1, 2011 in Chicago. This quantitative intelligent technology enables true fidelity 4D (3D in motion) and the gateway to 5D (functional analytics of motion) imaging. The company will host live demonstrations throughout show hours and congress attendees will be able to navigate interactively with a âœliveâ beating heart, contrast perfused brain tumor and other anatomy.
âœThe ability to produce true fidelity 4D images with such incredible accuracy provides the basis for us to take it to the next level of applying functional analytics,â said E. Brian Butler, MD, professor and chairman of Radiation Oncology, The Methodist Hospital, Houston. âœZiosoft is being utilized in a 3D,4D, 5D visualization environment called Platoâs CAVE (Computer Augmented Virtual Environment). Using deformable registration software technology, Ziosoft is able to provide significant motion coherence and noise reduction. This is going to allow us to move into additional dimensions such as 5D.â
PhyZiodynamic inVivo technology applies supercomputing to patient care. The open standard architecture of this powerful software can be used with any DICOM imaging modality including CT, MR, PET and others. It allows multiple concurrent users per server throughout the enterprise system, enabling appropriate, actionable outcomes across the patient continuum.
âœSo often we see multiple silos throughout a patientâs care,â said Rob Royea, president and COO of Ziosoft/Qi imaging. âœWe believe it is imperative to be both vendor and modality agnostic, and to deliver highly accurate medical image information directly to the point of patient care. The ability to provide, for the first time, quantitative intelligence, derived from data in motion, provides a flashpoint in the acceleration of well patient care.â
The company will also be presenting MR cardiac strain analysis and CT electrophysiology analysis as a works in progress (WIP). New enhancements to the Ziostation® software platform will be featured as well. These include a lesion management tool for oncology (WIP) and enhanced vessel analysis which can be used with customized protocols as defined by the user.
Ziosoft recently joined the NantWorks family of technologies led by visionary Patrick Soon-Shiong, MD. Ziosoft has been renamed Qi Imaging – referring to the âœQuantitative Intelligentâ image data that is automatically generated from fourth dimensional motion imaging, as well as referring to the Chinese understanding of the life force. The name Ziosoft will be retained in Japan where the company has a large share of the advanced visualization market with more than 2,000 Ziostation systems installed.
NantWorks LLC is combining several technology businesses into a single entity for the purpose of bringing the digital revolution to the service of healthcare, education, science and the justice system, as well as taking digital entertainment to an entirely new level. Since selling the two companies he founded â“ American Pharmaceutical Partners in 2008 and Abraxis BioScience in 2010 â“ Soon-Shiong has invested in excess of $400 million acquiring and developing numerous digital technologies.
NantWorks LLC was recently founded and led by Patrick Soon-Shiong, MD.
