According to the Heart Rate Watch Company the new Polar RCX5 Tour de France cycling watch is due out in early April and it has been named the official training computer of the 2012 Tour de France. “This exciting new watch uses Polar’s best cycling technology and the color will make you feel like you are wearing the yellow jersey on the Champs D’Elysee”, says Rusty Squire, President of the Heart Rate Watch Company.

Polar released the RCX5 watch line in 2011 to satisfy the demands of many triathlon, cycling, running and multisport competitors and the watch has been a big success. “The fact that they used a dual frequency chest strap that allows you to get heart rate while swimming made this watch very versatile” says Squire. He adds, “The Polar RCX5 Tour de France limited edition is the coolest looking version yet and will be available in the bike version in April for cyclists”.

The Polar RCX5 Tour de France cycling watch uses Polar’s WIND technology which eliminates electrical interference from power lines, transformers and other devices that can interfere with magnet based technology. It also makes use of the Polar Wearlink chest strap which uses a patented heart sensing fabric to make the strap extra comfortable.

“Most cyclists will likely want to add an optional Polar WIND cadence sensor to this bundle and also a G5 GPS sensor for mapping all their routes” says Squire. He adds, “These sensors just further add to the versatility of the overall package for measuring all possible metrics”.

For the past two seasons Polar has been named the official training computer of the Tour de France. Last year with its Polar CS500 limited edition and this year, for 2012, with the Polar RCX5 Tour de France limited edition.

Availability for the brand new Polar RCX5 Tour de France version is in April of 2012 and the Heart Rate Watch Company will have the watch in stock in time for the earliest possible delivery.

“Like all limited edition Polar products, a watch like the Polar RCX5 TDF won’t last long so the best thing consumers can do is pre-order as soon as possible.” says Squire.
