Women’s Dermatologic Society (WDS) Announces 2012-2013 Leadership and Honorees
ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — The Women’s Dermatologic Society (WDS), the nation’s third largest dermatologic organization, announces its 2012-2013 Officers, Board of Directors and annual honorees, as presented at the 37th Annual Meeting Luncheon held recently in conjunction with the American Academy of Dermatology’s Annual Meeting in San Diego.
Lynchburg, VA dermatologist Janet G. Hickman, MD has assumed the role of WDS President, following Immediate Past President Diane S. Berson, MD (2011-2012).
Other WDS Officers include: Amy Paller, MD, President-elect; Elise A. Olsen, MD, Vice President; Mary E. Maloney, MD, Treasurer; Valerie D. Callender, MD, Secretary, and Marianne N. O’ Donoghue, MD, Historian.

Distinguished dermatologists honored at WDS Annual Luncheon
As part of its annual tradition of honoring outstanding individuals for significant contributions to the Specialty, the WDS recognized the following member dermatologists: Jean L. Bolognia, MD, recipient of the Rose Hirschler Award; William D. James, MD, Mentor of the Year awardee; E. Dorinda Shelley, MD, inaugural recipient of the new Walter B. Shelley, MD Leadership Award, and Wendy E. Roberts, MD, President’s Award winner. In addition, the “Men of WDS,” who comprise 8% of the organization’s membership, were honored collectively for their contributions through mentorship, service and support.
