UHC and American College of Medical Quality Offer Special Supplement From UHC Annual Conference

April 2, 2012

CHICAGO, April 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — UHC, in collaboration with the Jefferson School of Population Health, has developed a 32-page supplement from its Annual Conference 2011, “LEAP: Lead, Excel, Achieve, Perform.”

The UHC Annual Conference 2011 issue is available as a supplement to the March/April 2012 issue of the American Journal of Medical Quality and online at uhc.edu. It provides a summary of the key presentations at UHC’s first-ever annual conference, which brought together more than 1,800 top health care professionals to learn more about improvement solutions for the health care industry.

“This supplement is designed to provide highlights of the various presentations delivered by the brightest minds in health care across the country,” said Irene Thompson, UHC president and chief executive officer. “For those that attended and for those that could not make it, this is a must-have resource to learn more about the initiatives driving improved quality and performance for today’s health care providers.”

UHC’s Julie Cerese and Jake Groenewold teamed up to present “Aligning Quality, Safety, and Cost-Effectiveness: Comprehensive Integration for Improved Outcomes,” while health policy journalist Susan Dentzer presented “Health Care Reform, the Triple Aim, and the Quality and Safety Agenda: Opportunities and Challenges for AMCs.” Best-selling author Jim Collins presented “A Defined Path to Academic Medical Center Greatness.” These three presentations are featured in the supplement.

In addition, the supplement includes the abstracts for many of the 70 “rapid-fire” sessions offered by presenters from health care facilities and organizations around the country, such as:
