Diversionary Therapy Technologies Debuts ditto dental(TM)
NEW YORK, May 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Diversionary Therapy Technologies (DTT) is pleased to announce the release of ditto dental(TM), an interactive electronic device containing augmented reality content to prepare children for dental procedures, resulting in reduced stress and anxiety for the pediatric patient and increased clinical productivity. The ditto dental(TM) was created based on the latest research that distraction and educational techniques simultaneously reduce stress. The portable device uses augmented reality, a multi-modal sensory-based distraction medium to engage children.
“DTT is happy to add a dental product to our family of diversionary products for children. The ditto(TM) has been successful in hospitals around the world at reducing anxiety in pediatric patients and we saw a need for dentists to have the same type of technology available to reduce stress and anxiety in their pediatric patients too,” said Rob Sale, President of DTT.
The ditto dental(TM) device has patient educational content covering all the dental procedures,. The device also includes interactive games and immersive stories to engage the patient while waiting for the procedure. Pediatric Dentists, Orthodontists, Child Life Specialists and animation experts have developed the ditto dental(TM) over the past couple of years and new content will continue to be added.
Rob Sale added, “Dental procedures can be very intimidating to children so the ditto dental(TM) uses child-friendly animation to reduce that anxiety. I know dentists worldwide are looking forward to having this device to assist in their practice and make the dental visit a better experience for their patients.”
