Attorney Alex Galindo with the law offices of Curd, Galindo & Smith, L.L.P. has filed a wrongful death lawsuit in Riverside Superior Court Case No.: RIC 1109382 against Southern California Edison Company (SCE).
The family of William McDonald alleges in their lawsuit that Southern California Edison Company, who owned and maintained a pad-mounted electrical transformer in San Jacinto, CA, failed to furnish the high voltage electrical hazard with any form of locking device.
According to court records, on June 2, 2009 witnesses recall seeing William McDonald walking within the general vicinity of the electrical transformer and then a large explosion occurred shortly thereafter. The Plaintiff alleges that due to Southern California Edison´s alleged failure to provide the adequate safety measures, William McDonald was exposed to the dangerously high voltage contents of the transformer. It is further alleged in the lawsuit that the family contends that the alleged lack of safety measures caused the William McDonald to make contact with the transformer, which led to the electrocution and death of William McDonald.
The family of William McDonald is seeking general and compensatory damages in an amount to be proven at trial for past and future loss of earnings, loss of consortium and loss of love and support.
SCE denies any responsibility for the death of Mr. McDonald.
