Heart Rate Watch Company now has on sale the highly anticipated new Polar RCX3 heart rate monitor. Both men’s and women’s versions of the Polar RCX3 GPS and RCX3 Run watch are available. The RCX3 bike and regular versions are due out later this summer.

“We are pumped to have the Polar RCX3 in stock” says Rusty Squire, President of Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, “The women’s version has been highly anticipated due to its much smaller sizing when compared to the Polar RCX5, so Polar finally has a real GPS, running and cycling watch that fits women and has a nice white color”.

The Polar RCX3 offers training benefit, a feature that tells you what the primary benefit of your training was in the current session. The watch also has available a training effect that looks at cumulative training load over a series of sessions to help adjust the training to avoid over, or under, training.

The Polar RCX3 GPS comes in a men’s version in black and the super hot new women’s version in white. Both watches come with the Polar G5 GPS sensor, which is about the size of a cell phone battery and the new GPS clip used on the Polar RCX5 Tour de France models. “We’ve tested the clip against the older armband and it is far preferable”, states Squire. He continues, “The clip can clip to bike jersey pockets and on the side of running shorts and it is virtually unnoticeable”.

The Polar RCX3 GPS model comes with a Polar Datalink download stick for transferring all workout data to Polar Personal Trainer software. The kit also includes a Polar WIND Wearlink chest strap which avoids magnetic interference. The G5 GPS unit also includes a micro-USB to USB connection for downloading GPS data to mapping software.

The Polar RCX3 Run also comes in two distinct versions with black for men and white for women. The difference in the kit is that the run bundle uses the Polar S3-Plus stride sensor which obtains speed, distance and analyzes stride data to help improve your running efficiency. “It is important to calibrate the S3 stride sensor at a quarter mile track to your average stride length so that it is accurate”, states Squire.

The Polar RCX3 Run is best suited to road racing and rolling to flat courses according to the Heart Rate Watch Company testers. “As with all stride sensors they work great until you get into mountainous terrain or in run/walk alternation where average stride length changes a lot”, says Squire.

Other Polar RCX3 models will be available later this summer.
