USDA Awards Organix NIFA Grant for Scalable, Integrated Anaerobic Digester & Fiber Processing Unit

June 25, 2012

WALLA WALLA, Wash., June 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Organix, Inc. of Walla Walla, Washington announced today that it has been awarded a USDA, National Food and Agriculture grant to develop a combined anaerobic digestion and aerobic conditioning system.

The project will include oversight by Utah State University digester veteran Dr. Conly Hansen. “To have Conly helping us with our concept is a real privilege and I look forward to his insight in the process”, says Russ Davis, Organix President. “As far as I know, this is the first anaerobic and aerobic process of its type that utilizes the same vessel. We are excited about what this could mean for small and midsize dairies across the country.”

Organix also holds the patent to the system that converts anaerobically digested dairy manure into RePeet(TM), a peat moss alternative.
