Amerinet Savings Roadmap helps drive down costs and ensure the organization is maximizing savings opportunities in Amerinet´s contract portfolio

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) June 28, 2012

Amerinet Inc., a leading national healthcare solutions organization, announced Amerinet member St. Barnabas Hospital (SBH), a 461-bed, acute care teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center in Bronx, New York, utilized the Amerinet Savings Roadmap℠ annually since 2006 to identify 12 percent in medical surgical savings opportunities.

“We were amazed that this one report could enhance our supply chain decision-making process so much,” said Patricia Cunningham, senior vice president of supply chain, SBH. “The Amerinet Savings Roadmap transforms mountains of data into information that is easily digestible, which allowed us to create a viable action plan. We had such success utilizing our first Roadmap that we´ve continued to have Amerinet provide us this service on an annual basis.”

The Amerinet Savings Roadmap is a dynamic spend analytics tool compiled by the Amerinet Diagnostix team who analyze and compare a provider´s current spend with Amerinet´s portfolio of product and service contracts to identify savings opportunities. This thorough analysis — including line item detail — displays all of the factors necessary to make decisions on contracts such as:

  •     Total spend per contract
  •     Current versus Amerinet costs
  •     Standardization status
  •     Product category
  •     Specific tier level applied
  •     Letter of commitment form status

“Receiving an Amerinet Savings Roadmap never gets old for us. Every year we look forward to identifying new savings opportunities,” said Donald Campbell, director of purchasing, SBH. “And the icing on the cake is Amerinet´s team of supply chain and clinical experts, who take an active role to implement the results.”

SBH´s comparable savings opportunities — substitute products under Amerinet contract that would help the facility reduce costs while maintaining quality — averaged 13 percent in the early years, and currently range from 19 — 29 percent of the current spend.

Additionally, the Amerinet Savings Roadmap identifies pricing disconnects and the Amerinet support team is available to contact suppliers and ensure the appropriate pricing is loaded.

Between 2008 and 2009, Amerinet helped SBH achieve 84 percent improvement in price accuracy.

“Amerinet has been extremely engaged and offers unique ways to achieve our savings goals and be successful,” stated Cunningham. “As a licensed Pharmacist, I can appreciate the benefits that Amerinet brings to the table and the breadth of product contract offerings for the entire hospital.”
