Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been supported by Newman´s Own Foundation through a grant of $2,500 to assist in making the organization´s educational programs available to a significantly expanded audience. The grant will support the development of content from the Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities educational programs, for use on the organization´s web platform, including its free e-newsletter and blogs for parents of children with learning disabilities and attention deficit disorders (ADHD).
The Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities website, created for parents, by parents, supports families whose children struggle with a learning disability or attention disorder. The website promotes parent empowerment and advocacy via its wide-ranging topics by experts. In addition, stories by parents offer hands-on tips for navigating the difficulties of school and everyday life, as well as providing inspiration through the profiles of high-achieving adults with learning disabilities.
“We are delighted to again receive the support of Newman´s Own Foundation,” noted Jane Ross, Executive Director of Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities, Inc. “We are very pleased that this grant will support our work in empowering parents to help their kids with learning disabilities and ADHD succeed, while also educating the public about these children´s significant gifts and talents.”
Additional grants supporting Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities´ educational programs received during the past month include: a $2,000 grant from the Westport Sunrise Rotary Club of Westport, CT; and $500 from The Westport Woman´s Club for a presentation of The ABCs of Literacy, a pre-literacy skills program serving parents of children in Bridgeport, CT.
