AnatomyOne: A New Generation of Anatomy Thought Leaders

July 6, 2012

Amirsys’ AnatomyOne authors bring a new approach to teaching and learning one of the fundamental pillars of medicine.

Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) July 06, 2012

Amirsys announces the authoring team for its innovative AnatomyOne product. The authors, who hail from across the United States, combine their knowledge and experience from multiple disciplines in order to provide students with the entire gamut of anatomy education. AnatomyOne not only provides the material included in traditional anatomy texts, but also provides students with expanded insights into early embryology and histology. AnatomyOne authors have also included both regional and systemic perspectives of anatomy, to provide a resource that more closely resembles students´ classroom experiences.

When asked about the new online resource, Dr. David Morton, AnatomyOne Editor-in-Chief, said, “It is necessary to move to the digital age. We created AnatomyOne so students and faculty would have the ability to access anatomical information the same way they search and access other information on the Internet.”

With the release of AnatomyOne in late June, Amirsys enriches students´ educational experience by introducing them to the insights of a new generation of thought leaders in anatomy. “We were raised on the shoulders of giants like Goodrich, Romer, Gray, Cunningham, and Moore,” says Professor Mark Nielsen, Anatomy Executive Editor for AnatomyOne. “What we are hoping to do is take up their mantel and embrace the calling to move anatomy education forward.”

AnatomyOne´s anatomy author team consists of David Morton, PhD, University of Utah; Mark Nielsen, MS, University of Utah; Paul Frankel, PhD, MBA; Todd Hoagland, PhD, Medical College of Wisconsin; Jason Organ, PhD, St. Louis University; Rebecca Pratt, PhD, Michigan State University; Rachel Tomco, MS, Brigham Young University; Jonathan Wisco, PhD, University of California, Los Angeles; and Ann Zumwalt, PhD, Boston University.
