The media spotlight is often a double-edged sword. No one knows this better than Teri Covert and people who suffer from Zinc Poisoning Symptoms. And yet, gossip and rumor-mongering aside, the real story here is being overlooked according to Sean Burke of AttorneyOne.

According to court documents, on April 24th, 2012, Iowa resident Teri Covert filed a mass tort claim at Philadelphia´s Common Pleas Court (case no. 120402817) alleging her use of the denture cream Fixodent caused her to experience neuropathy, zinc toxicity and other neurological disorders. Fixodent is a denture adhesive cream manufactured by Procter & Gamble. Covert alleges she started using Fixodent in 1999. The lawsuit claims that Fixodent caused Plaintiff to develop various physical injuries, including among others, myelopathy, neuropathy, zinc toxicity, paralysis, inability to talk and other disorders. Plaintiff seeks relief as set forth in the master denture adhesive cream litigation at Philadelphia´s Common Pleas Court.

In the April 1st, 2011 issue of General Dentistry, a study conducted by the University of Maryland was published revealing that excessive use of zinc-based denture adhesive cream may cause neurological damage and other problems from zinc poisoning.

AttorneyOne.com, a recognized authority on law, can provide helpful advice and simple solutions including how to get in contact with legal counsel so that, in case of severe adverse events from Denture Cream, someone can easily and inexpensively deal with it. As Mr. Burke, director of Media Relations for AttorneyOne.com, added, “What all this information really illustrates is that threat from Denture Cream remains. In February 2011, the FDA called for the removal of zinc from all denture adhesive creams stating that the agency has received numerous reports of adverse events related to the use of denture adhesives. As mentioned “Consumers most at risk include people using excessive amounts of these products over extended periods of time; people with poor fitting dentures; and people who are unable to read or understand product labeling.”
