MIAMI, July 16, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — Governor Rick Scott has appointed Dade Medical College’s Corporate Clinical Rotation Manager, Ladisbel Leyva, to the Board of Directors for the Florida Center for Nursing.
The Board, responsible for addressing the dynamic nurse workforce needs and the issues of nursing supply and demand to meet the needs of health care consumers in Florida, also works on recognition awards for nurses as well as disseminates information to healthcare professionals, other organizations and potential nurses. The three-year appointment will see Leyva and all board members working on these initiatives.
“Choosing to be a nurse and finally obtaining my license was a tremendous accomplishment for me and now, I am honored to be appointed to this board to continue to nurture and maintain the high professional standards of this wonderful profession,” says Leyva.
During her time with Dade Medical College, Leyva has worked closely with the Corporate Director of Nursing to develop and implement a first rate nursing program at the college. As the Corporate Clinical Rotation Manager, Leyva oversees all student clinical rotations and places students at all of the area hospitals to assure that students have a positive educational experience during this important part of the program.
“I am fortunate to have Ladisbel on our nursing staff team and it is clear that the Governor saw what I saw in her: a compassionate, hard working nurse that exemplifies the nursing profession’s mission to protect and promote the health of all,” says Ernesto Perez, Dade Medical College President and CEO. “We could not be happier for her.”
Leyva is appointed for a term beginning July 10, 2012, and ending June 30, 2015.
