Brentwood, TN (PRWEB) July 27, 2012

In 2012, AED.com is giving away 100 AEDs (automated external defibrillators) to individuals, businesses, and organizations. A recent giveaway was coordinated through the LinkedIn Group, Medical Devices Group, which consists of over 126,000 members. AED.com donated ten AEDs for the sweepstakes. One of the chosen winners was Coaugsense Inc, the manufacturer of Coag-Sense PT/INR Monitoring Systems, a home use blood clot detector.

CEO Douglas Patterson said, “We were ecstatic when we discovered that we had won an AED for our facility. Having driven an ambulance during college, I know that there is no substitute for having lifesaving technology at the ready. I am simply amazed at how defibrillator technology has changed over the years and the product we received from AED.com was really top notch.”

Patterson, who received the Powerheart G3 AED by Cardiac Science stated, “As a medical device manufacturer we like to admire other sophisticated medical technology and this is truly the case with our new AED, as we know that it has the potential to save one of our lives. AED.com´s generous gift has given our employees piece of mind, particularly when the nearest fire station has closed for lack of funding.”

SCA (sudden cardiac arrest) strikes over 350,000 people in the United States every year. The only thing that will potentially save those included in this staggering statistic is a defibrillator. AED.com’s mission is spread awareness about Sudden Cardiac Arrest and the importance of quick access to an AED.

AED.com is headquartered in Brentwood, TN. AED.com’s parent company, DXE Medical Inc. was founded in 1999 and provides services to over 20,000 customers in all 50 U.S. states and 35 countries worldwide. For more information, please visit: http://www.aed.com/
