WeightLoss.org has just launched its first blogger series comprised of a group of writers from all walks of life who have resolved to finally lose their extra pounds and chronicle their journey. Featured in the series is former Survivor: Samoa contestant Mike Borassi, who was evacuated from the island after being declared medically incapable of continuing due to blood pressure concerns and extreme dehydration. Mike, a personal chef from Los Angeles, will be sharing healthful recipes alongside his tribulations with Survivor and his current milestones and achievements.
Another participant with an important yet all too familiar story to tell is Catherine Anne Hayes who was featured on the recent BBC special, Rude Awakening: Obesity, in which two overweight young women who are in denial spend three days with Cathy and another morbidly obese woman in an effort to steer them toward losing weight by giving them a glimpse into their probable future.
Unlike some TV series that turn weight loss into a competition, WeightLoss.org aligns itself with current medical recommendations that weight should be lost slowly, yet steadily, to avoid potentially dangerous complications associated with rapid weight loss. The site´s unique approach is in creating a community of that galvanizes its readership to realize their own ambitions and transform themselves into the healthy, fit people they want to be.
“We sought out a team of bloggers that encompassed a wide range of personalities who are easily relatable to, ranging from a compulsive binge eater to a bride-to-be that needs to lose 20 pounds to fit in her wedding dress,” site editor Jonathan Roberts, said. “Each member of the 11 person team will be utilizing a different type or variation of popular diets like Weight Watchers, Paleo diet, and a low-carb approach, concurrent with an exercise regimen appropriate for their current weight.”
Weekly updates contain candid insight into each writer´s personal weight loss battle with reductions in weight being tracked on a bar graph and regular photo updates. WeightLoss.org aims to serve as a beacon of inspiration that helps its readership find the motivation to radically change their current lifestyle so they may thrive for many years to come.
