Watson Launches Generic Xopenex®

PARSIPPANY, N.J., Aug. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NYSE: WPI) today announced that it has launched an authorized generic version of Xopenex(® )(levalbuterol HCl) Inhalation Solution as part of an agreement with Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Watson began shipping the product today. Xopenex(® )Inhalation Solution is indicated for the treatment or prevention of bronchospasm in adults, adolescents, and children 6 years of age and older with reversible obstructive airway disease.

For the most recent twelve months ending June 30, 2012, Xopenex(®) had total U.S. sales of approximately $474 million, according to IMS Health data.
