Health Planning Council to Host 7K Race in Nassau County
The Community First Hale & Hearty 7K Race Series Expands to Fernandina Beach for 2013

The Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida is expanding the Community First Hale & Hearty 7K race series to Fernandina Beach on March 16, 2013. The Community First Hale & Hearty 7K in Riverside/Avondale will continue on June 1, 2013.

June 1, 2013: Community First Hale & Hearty 7K Riverside
The Community First Hale & Hearty 7K Fernandina Beach will begin in downtown Fernandina Beach at Front and Centre Street with an 8:00 AM start.
For the first time ever, this race will take runners down historic and charming Centre Street with its plentiful shopping, retail and restaurants. Runners will also be able to see all sides of the popular and beautiful Central Park, Eagan Creek Greenway and run past the Amelia Lighthouse. The course will end at the popular Farmer’s Market on Front Street.
The inaugural Community First Hale & Hearty 7K Race held June 1, 2012 had more than 650 participants and was in celebration of healthy communities committed to happy and healthy places. The proceeds from this race assisted the Health Planning Council to cover the expenses associated with its annual regional health care utilization studies and to expand the features of its health-related quality of life indicator dashboard, Northeast Florida Counts (http://www.nefloridacounts.org).
The Community First Hale & Hearty 7K Riverside will begin at the Riverside Arts Market with a 7:30 AM start. The course will take runners through two of Riverside’s most popular and frequented parks, Memorial Park and Riverside Park. Runners will also be able to enjoy the sights and sounds of Historic Five Points and its connected blocks of shopping, retail, and housing located on Oak Street. The run will end along the RiverWalk. The Community First Hale & Hearty 7K will finish at the Riverside Arts Market under the Fuller Warren Bridge.
