Coast2Coast Rx to Participate in International City/County Management Association’s Annual Conference

October 4, 2012

Government officials will have opportunity to learn about multi-faceted discount prescription program gaining momentum with municipalities across the U.S.

Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (PRWEB) October 03, 2012

The providers of the Coast2Coast Rx card announced today that they will participate in the upcoming International City/County Management Association´s (ICMA) 98th Annual Conference at the Phoenix Convention Center, October 7-10. With the conference expected to attract an international audience of more than 2,500 local government professionals, it promises to be an excellent opportunity for leaders of these municipalities to learn about the Coast2Coast Rx card program and the benefits it has to offer their local government entity and residents.

More than 230 counties, cities and townships throughout the U.S. and the State County Associations in Alabama, California, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota and Utah have endorsed the Coast2Coast Rx card for its comprehensive health benefits to constituents, its ease of use and its ability to serve as a source of revenue for county programs. In the current economic climate, the free program allows consumers to save up to 75 percent on prescription drugs with a nationwide average savings of 60 percent–and in a move that sets itself apart, Coast2Coast Rx provides participating municipalities with a $1.25 for each prescription filled using the card. This unique partnership allows city and county managers to allocate funds towards public programs and projects, with examples that include Meals on Wheels, senior health fairs, indigent healthcare services, and medical alert services for seniors. Participating in the program comes at no cost to the municipality; in fact, Coast2Coast Rx markets and distributes the cards so that the program does not require additional administrative work by public employees.

The simplicity of the program begins with the card itself–there are no eligibility requirements or restrictions, membership paperwork, fees or expiration date; contributing to its popularity. Coast2Coast Rx offers an average nationwide savings of 60 percent on thousands of brand name and generic prescription fills, with available savings of up to 75 percent. The card is accepted at major chain and many independent pharmacies and through partner programs, offers a network of discounted vision, dental and hearing services, lab and imaging tests, diabetes supplies and even pet prescriptions and veterinary care. While the card can provide the most savings to consumers with no insurance benefits, it can also be used by those who have insufficient coverage or high deductibles and in some cases can even help offset the costs of the Medicare Part D “donut hole.”

Healthcare costs are a top concern for consumers and government, making the ICMA conference an ideal time to discuss how this program can benefit public officials´ constituents. ICMA´s 2012 Annual Conference will convene thousands of local government managers and their staffs from around the world. Over three days, members and guests will learn about key local government management issues and leading practices, exchange ideas, and network. Conference attendees are invited to meet with representatives of Coast2Coast Rx in Booth #706 in the exhibit hall.

“Through our increasing number of partnerships nationwide, we find that participating municipalities´ goals align with ours: to save consumers money, help constituents improve their health, and to help communities generate revenue to serve the public good,” said Chief Marketing Officer Marty Dettelbach of Financial Marketing Concepts, Inc., the providers of the Coast2Coast Rx card. “The ICMA conference is an excellent platform for us to reach even more public officials who would like to offer their constituents the multi-faceted benefits of the Coast2Coast Rx card.”
