As Pediatric Medical Director, Christensen provides clinical oversight and guidance for all pediatric services provided by THMCC.

Christensen is the Assistant Director of the Emergency Department at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, where she previously served as Chief of Staff. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Subspecialist Boards, and she serves on the Board of the Knoxville Academy of Medicine. Christensen is a published scholar in the field of virology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP).
