Shilajit Kundu, MD, Joins Cancer Treatment Centers of America at Midwestern Regional Medical Center
Esteemed urologic oncologist offers advanced surgical options to patients
CHICAGO, March 11, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Midwestern Regional Medical Center (Midwestern) is happy to announce that Shilajit Kundu, MD, has joined the hospital as a urologic oncologist focusing on the treatment of prostate cancer, bladder cancer, testicular cancer and kidney cancer. Kundu, who completed his fellowship in urologic cancer at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, sees patients twice a week at the Zion, Ill. based medical center.

As part of the CTCA at Midwestern team, Kundu performs surgery, consults with medical oncologists and patients on surgical treatment options available, and monitors patients who may need surgical intervention in the future. Since joining the CTCA at Midwestern team, Kundu has also implemented a new urology rehabilitation program to help patients recover and return to normal function following surgery.

Kundu is an active member of the American Urologic Association and has authored countless manuscripts and book chapters.
