Children’s Medical Center of Dallas CEO Honored in Austin
AUSTIN, Texas, March 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Today, the 83(rd) Legislature of the Texas House of Representatives voted to honor Christopher J. Durovich for his outstanding leadership as president and chief executive officer of Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and chairman of the board of trustees Children’s Hospital Association (CHA). The resolution was sponsored by State Representative Rafael Anchia (D) of the 103(rd) District.
Under Durovich’s leadership, Children’s has become one of the nation’s finest pediatric hospitals. It is the only hospital in North Texas ranked in all 10 pediatric specialties by U.S. News & World Report. Children’s provides more than 600,000 patient encounters a year as it helps make life better for approximately 200,000 children.
Durovich leads the 13-member CHA board that represents the nation’s children’s hospitals as it oversees efforts to improve child health by advancing the delivery, cost and quality of pediatric health care and by affecting public policy. At a critical time for children’s health care, CHA and its member hospitals are focused on ensuring a health-care system meeting the health needs of children. Fiscal pressures at the state and federal levels pose rigorous challenges for pediatric hospitals.
