Routine Eye Exams
Health care providers recommend getting the eyes checked every few years to rule out any serious vision problems. Anyone with a condition such as glaucoma or diabetes, which makes them more susceptible to eyesight issues, should have yearly eye exams. Vision checks can be performed by an eyecare professional such as an Ophthalmologist or Optometrist.

Visit a local eyeglass store, such as Stanton Optical, to receive a comprehensive eye examination by a licensed Doctor of Optometry. At the conclusion of the exam, the optometrist writes out an eyeglass prescription so the patient can order any necessary corrective eyeglasses or contact lenses. For more serious vision problems, the optometrist will recommend consultation with a Doctor of Ophthalmology.
