Mesa, AZ (PRWEB) April 27, 2013
Randysmiracle.com, is a fundraising website supporting James Randall Weis, often called Randy by his friends and family. What started as just a fall playing soccer, neck-related symptoms appeared over time, alarming his parents, Vicki and Rich Weis. After an MRI and later a CT and bone scan, it was determined that Randy had fractured his C5 vertebrae. The injury was surprisingly severe for just a fall playing soccer, so the doctors anticipated something else as the root cause. After two and a half hours of surgery, the trauma to the C5 vertebrae was found to be Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH), which affects only about 1 in 200,000 children. The surgery was a success, the tumor was removed, and the vertebrae repaired. Since the surgery, Randy has continued to get better and better in hopes of reaching full recovery soon.
After the whole ordeal, Randy´s family were very grateful that everything would turn out fine. However, one thing that Randy´s parents hadn’t anticipated was the incredible debt they were now under due to the high cost of Randy´s medical care. From the month spent in and out of the hospital, numerous doctors visits, surgery, and all the tests taken; the amount owed by the family was extraordinary. As a result, randysmiracle.com was created to help raise money for the Weis family.
Since the launch of the fundraising campaign and website, the community has received this story and answered with support. Numerous companies have contributed either money or services to help the family get back on track. One of these companies, Web-Op, offered to help design, develop, and market the website free of charge. Now randysmiracle.com, is the source of Randy´s story and is the platform to donate to help the Weis family escape the high medical debt that has mounted. Trevor Bailey, CFO of Web-Op, commented on Randy and Web-Op´s involvement stating, “Well, the whole Web-Op family was moved by this extraordinary young boy. We absolutely had to contribute something, so we offered our website design and development services”.
Other companies that have supported Randy and his family include Allstar Window Cleaning, Real World Cycling, Promotion USA, ESI Grips, VSales Corporation, Sharon Funkhouser, Ravenswood Realty AZ, Salad and Go, Clothing Cycle, Trek Factory Racing, Pro Plumb, along with over 75 individual donations. The family continues to be extremely grateful of the support they have received.
