2nd Annual Montreal Yoga Music Chant Festival Repeating its “Blissful” Winning Formula

May 2, 2013

Montreal Yoga Music Chant Festival held in Montreal June 15-16 for its 2nd year will double its attendance this summer.

Montreal, Quebec (PRWEB) May 02, 2013

For a 2nd year in a row, Montreal Kirtan is thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual Montreal Yoga Music Chant Festival coming to Montreal June 15 & 16 2013 at Concordia’s Loyola campus located at 7141 Sherbrooke West.

After the 1st successful festival last year, Lea Longo, who is also a Montreal Chant artist and award winning songwriter, decided to repeat the formula again to support and build the yoga and chant community here in Montreal.

With a background in jazz and pop music, Lea discovers yoga chanting and mantras while visiting India. She quotes, “It was like I was immediately healed with the power of the chant. I remember tears falling down when chanting Om Tare Tuttare Ture Swaha, a healing chant“¦it changed my life, music and voice. So she thought, we should have such a yoga in Montreal and started Montreal Kirtan 6 years ago. She leads kirtans regularly in Montreal and travels abroad with her musicians sharing this yoga of sound.

The Montreal Chant Festival is a festival where people can come sing, do yoga, chant and just BE happy. It´s about celebrating life and connecting with yourself and your yoga community through a rich cultural, social and musical experience. When we chant, we connect within. It´s called a “kirtan” which is an ancient yoga but relatively new to Montreal where people chant in a call and response fashion leading to blissful state or “inner peace´.

With the vision of keeping the festival local, most of our musical artists are from Montreal including Patrick Bernard, Namo Shanti, KC Solaris & Eddy Nataraj and surely, Lea Longo. With 2 days of chanting, and yoga, this festival will surely please everyone of all ages.

Family-friendly yoga, including kids yoga, will be offered under the ZEN DEN by renowned yoga teachers to round out this fantastic outdoor experience. Be taught by some one the most sought after yoga teachers in our community like Dr Bali and Shabad Saroop Khalsa. Come join us and Feel the Bliss!
