Pioneer Energy Services Chooses Intelex to Expand Commitment to Safety Excellence

May 10, 2013

Oil and Gas leader leverages incident, training, DOT solutions in quest for injury-free workplace

TORONTO (PRWEB) May 10, 2013

Intelex is pleased to announce Pioneer Energy Services is expanding its already impressive commitment to safety excellence by leveraging Intelex’s proven safety management software. Pioneer will be using Intelex solutions to capture data associated with incidents and near-misses on a real-time basis, right from the field.

With drilling and production service operations across the major producing areas in the United States as well as Colombia, Pioneer recognizes that safety is the top priority for all its employees. In fact, in 2011 Pioneer introduced a LiveSafe initiative to further improve the safety of Pioneer employees on the job, at home and everywhere in between.

“At Pioneer, safety is far more than just another requirement or nice-to-have — it´s a way of life,” explains Carlos Pena, Senior VP and General Counsel at Pioneer. “From senior management to frontline crew supervisor, superior safety is an ongoing mindset, and every day we strive to achieve an injury- and incident-free workplace. It is our hope Intelex will help bring us closer to that goal.”

Between 2007 and 2011, Pioneer managed to slash its recordable injury rates by more than 75 per cent. Impressive as that is, there is still work to be done to reach Pioneer’s eventual goal of an injury-free workplace.

Pioneer will be using Intelex software to streamline and consolidate its safety management program across all business units to better protect its nearly 3,800 employees, more than 90 per cent of which work directly in the field, performing oil and gas drilling and production service work. In particular, Pioneer will leverage Intelex’s incident management, Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance, and training management applications within a centralized, automated system.

“We chose Intelex for the flexibility of the system,” notes Ron Reyes, Business Systems Manager at Pioneer. “One of the key advantages was we were able to configure the system to adapt to our existing business processes, rather than us adapting to the software.”

“We´re honoured to develop a relationship with a business as committed to safety leadership as Pioneer,” says Mark Jaine, President and CEO of Intelex. “The folks at Pioneer have really made safety stewardship their foremost accountability and at Intelex we love working with companies that strive to minimize their negative impacts in the world.”
