Businessman and former professional athlete Roberto Clemente, Jr. has been named to the board of directors of Nutritional Products International (NPI), a leading sales and marketing firm for nutraceutical health and beauty brands.

Clemente, the son of baseball legend Roberto Clemente, will help guide NPI´s efforts to help worldwide brands reach a wider audience in the American marketplace. He currently serves as the spokesperson for PowerICE, a revolutionary frozen sports bar that helps athletes get the energy and hydration they need to perform at their best.

“Roberto Clemente, Jr. will make an excellent addition to our international board of directors,” said Mitch Gould, CEO of NPI. “He has both strong professional insights into the nutritional products industry and personal and professional notoriety that people know and trust. We believe that Mr. Clemente has a lot to offer our firm and our clients, and we look forward to working with him in the near future.”

Clemente played in the minor league systems of the Philadelphia Phillies, San Diego Padres and Baltimore Orioles before injuries cut his career short. Since leaving baseball, he has found success in both business and broadcasting, including as the Spanish-language radio and TV announcer for the New York Yankees.

Clemente began his work with NPI while serving as the spokesperson for PowerICE, a frozen sports bar that delivers electrolytes and essential nutrients to athletes and other active individuals. NPI developed a working relationship with Clemente that eventually led to him joining the firm´s board.

“I am very excited to work with NPI, as I´ve been very impressed with the expertise and dedication of the firm´s team,” said Clemente. “As a professional athlete, I´ve had a lot of experience working with sports nutrition products and a wide range of supplements. I´ve also spent much of my career involved in mass media. I look forward to leveraging these insights into helping NPI effectively serve its global clients.”

NPI specializes in the marketing and sale of nutritional and health care brands from the United States and throughout the world. Its team works to bring both domestic and foreign products to consumers in the American market, and the company is now among the most successful nutraceutical industry sales and marketing agencies in the country.
