Stryker Hip Lawsuit News: Federal Cases Consolidated in Minnesota, Rottenstein Law Group LLP Reports

June 12, 2013

The firm is actively filing Stryker lawsuits on behalf of those who allegedly suffered metallosis, premature device failure and other serious complications.

(PRWEB) June 12, 2013

A federal panel of judges ordered on June 12 a consolidation of federal Stryker hip lawsuits in Minnesota, according to court documents. The order applies to lawsuits filed by those who have been injured by their Stryker Rejuvenate and ABG II hip implants. The Rottenstein Law Group LLP, which explains the new consolidation, represents clients in metal-on-metal hip replacement lawsuits.

To date there are dozens of Stryker hip lawsuits planned for consolidation into a federal multidistrict litigation in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota under Judge Donovan W. Frank, according to court documents in In re: Stryker Rejuvenate and ABG II Hip Implant Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2441 (Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation).

“The consolidation of pretrial proceedings is good for the plaintiffs,” said Rochelle Rottenstein, principal of the Rottenstein Law Group LLP. “This means a more efficient, cost-effective avenue to trials, while retaining the potential for individual compensation for each plaintiff.”

In July 2012, about a year before the Stryker MDL order, the company recalled its metal-on-metal ABG II and Rejuvenate hip implants because data showed that the modular necks of those devices are prone to fretting and corrosion, which can cause the patient´s tissue around the implant to swell and become painful, according to the company´s website.* Alleged serious side effects also include metallosis, which is the poisoning of the body with metal particles in the blood.

The Rottenstein Law Group LLP represents clients in Stryker hip implant lawsuits. The firm encourages those who believe they have suffered from the ABG II and Rejuvenate´s alleged side effects to visit the firm´s website to download a free brochure to learn more about possible compensation from lawsuits.
