Alcoholic Woman Arrested on Her Way to Premier Detox Center

June 13, 2013

Heather Dykman, who suffers from alcohol abuse, was on her way from Baltimore to Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale Airport when she consumed too many alcoholic beverages on her Spirit Airlines flight. The woman intends to claim her sobriety back by beginning a 24/7 medically supervised program at Harbor Village, a premier detox center in Miami, Florida.

Miami, FL (PRWEB) June 13, 2013

As reported by NBC6 South Florida (6/7), Heather Dykman was arrested by local South Florida authorities after she became surly, made obscene gestures and uttered profanity and racial slurs aboard her Spirit Airlines flight. Dykman, an alcoholic, had two vodka drinks on board and erupted into a fit of poor conduct, which continued at her arrival gate. She was seeking professional assistance for her dependency at Harbor Village, a new upscale detox center in Miami, Florida.

The trained staff at Harbor Village recognize the importance of working closely with those dependent on alcohol and are helping Dykman, the mother of two young daughters, achieve sobriety and get herself on the path to recovery. Robert Niznik, Harbor Village CEO, said he and his team are impressed by Dykman’s courage to speak out about her experience.

“The fact that she came out and said, ‘Look, I’m an average person, and I suffer from addiction. I have a family, I’m a mother, and I’m looking for help,’ I think that it really kind of gives hope for people who may have otherwise been afraid to seek help,” Robert Niznik, Harbor Village CEO explained.

Dykman, who is half Native American, said, “If you have cancer, you go to an oncologist and get help. No one asks. It’s not an issue. When you’re an addict, it’s a secret, no one wants to talk about it.”

In addition to causing a host of health issues, alcoholism can cost you your job, home, personal possessions, your respect from friends and coworkers and worst of all, your family. Niznik asks that anyone who suffers from this debilitating dependency to contact a drug and alcohol detox center such as Harbor Village to start the recovery process.

The above story is a prime example of how alcohol addicts can not only harm themselves physically but also get in trouble with the law. For many, a modern detox facility offering a personalized program designed specifically for each client is the only solution. Harbor Village, a 24/7 professionally supervised detox center allows each client to experience detoxification in a luxury, state-of-the art environment. Located in South Florida, clients are welcomed with upscale accommodations including a beautifully furnished suite complete with television and headphones, an acre of scenic outdoor lounge area, salon, spa and massage services, acupuncture treatment, nutritious, gourmet dining and a results proven, individualized plan to achieve sobriety.
