The Royal Mental Health Center of Ottawa Releases a Complete Mobile Application Suite for Veterans Coping with Operational Stress Injuries
The Royal Mental Health Center of Ottawa, on behalf of the Canadian Operational Stress Injury (OSI) Clinic Network today released a bi-lingual, multi-platform mobile application for veterans, their families and their health practitioners. The OSI Connect mobile application will help veterans, military and RCMP recognize and help seek treatment for mental health issues.

The Operational Stress Injury (OSI) Clinic of The Royal Mental Health Center of Ottawa, on behalf of the Canadian OSI Clinic Network today released the iPhone, Android and BlackBerry mobile applications as well as a mobile optimized website for veterans, Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP, their families and their family doctors to understand the top mental health issues facing veterans, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety and sleep issues.
Developed as a one-stop shop, the OSI Connect application has a series of assessment surveys that allows veterans to privately and discreetly determine the type of referral they may need to discuss with their health care practitioner, and where they might be able to find those clinics in their region. Filled with additional resources, not only for veterans, military and RCMP but their families and their referring doctors, the goal is to drive a rapid diagnosis and allow people to find the help they need. The application includes a link to the PTSD Coach application developed for the iPhone by Veterans Affairs Canada as well as additional applications developed for veterans in the United States.
“Our goal was to create a free mental health learning and self-management mobile app to help OSI clients and their families understand the nature of operational stress injuries (OSIs) and to provide help through the OSI Clinic Network across Canada.
