BBK Worldwide Leverages Google Virtual Tours as a Patient Engagement Tool to Support Clinical Trial Enrollment

June 25, 2013

Product Showcases Individual Study Locations with a 360-Degree Interactive Tour

BOSTON, June 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — BBK Worldwide has launched a new online tool that leverages Google virtual tours for the benefit of patient engagement. The product features 360-degree imaging that provides a virtual tour of the locations where a clinical research study is being conducted. This dynamic new tool offers potential study participants the opportunity to tour the office space in advance – helping to set expectations and lessen any concerns they may have about participating in a clinical research study. The global patient recruitment leader is launching this new tool to coincide with the 49(th) Annual Meeting of the Drug Information Association, which is being held in Boston from June 23 – 27, 2013. Meeting attendees can stop by booth #307 for an in-person demonstration.

“This tool is an extension of our commitment to educating patients on clinical research. It allows for potential study participants, family members, and loved ones to explore the study location in advance – at their convenience. This is particularly helpful for individuals who may not be familiar with clinical research,” said Matthew Stumm, principal, creative & media strategy, BBK Worldwide.

“In our experience, virtual tours are a great way to orient patients,” commented Patrick McLaughlin, executive director, Anaheim Clinical Trials. “Site staff can spend a lot of time getting patients accustomed to their space – this technology reduces the burden on site staff and frees them up to focus on patient care.”

This cost effective tool also bolsters the relationships between the study sponsor and the individual study sites. “Showcasing the study sites online demonstrates the clinical trial sponsor’s long-term commitment to supporting enrollment efforts at the site level,” said Stumm.

BBK’s leveraging of Google virtual tours is designed to meet privacy restrictions and regulations, both at the study site and sponsor levels, ensuring that all content is approved for public display.
