ChopChop Kids and The New Balance Foundation Team Up for Sustained Support in Fighting Childhood Obesity
The New Balance Foundation renews grant to ChopChop Kids, publisher of ChopChop Magazine, continuing its commitment to preventing childhood obesity by teaching kids to cook.

ChopChop Kids, the non-profit behind ChopChop: The Fun Cooking Magazine for Families, announced today that Boston-based New Balance Foundation has generously awarded the innovative publisher $750,000 over the next two years to expand its ability to inspire and teach school-aged kids to cook real food with their families. The grant is part of New Balance Foundation’s long-term commitment to childhood obesity prevention and will enable more kids nationwide to receive the non-profit magazine that offers nutritious recipes, fun food trivia and engages kids in cooking to empower them to take charge of their health.

Endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics and named Publication of the Year by the James Beard Foundation, ChopChop Magazine offers nutritious, great-tasting, ethnically diverse and inexpensive recipes, as well as interesting and little-known food facts, games and Q and As. Since its launch, ChopChop has reached more than two million families and is available in both English and Spanish. The magazine is distributed to children and families via doctors, hospitals, and youth-based community organizations, as well as through schools, after-school programs, food banks, farmers’ markets, grocery stores and individual subscriptions.
