Philanthropist Conrad Prebys Supports San Diego County Hospice Services With $250,000 Gift To The Elizabeth Hospice
Funds will support vital programs for seriously ill adults and children
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — San Diego businessman and philanthropist, Conrad Prebys, shows his support of The Elizabeth Hospice with a gift of $250,000. The donation provides critical funding of vital programs and services for seriously ill adults and children. The not-for-profit organization is the region’s oldest and largest hospice provider, caring for nearly 500 adults and children each day throughout San Diego County, and has recently expanded its services to south Riverside County.
The Prebys donation to The Elizabeth Hospice is a gift from the heart, as Mr. Prebys experienced first-hand the benefits of hospice care for those living with a serious illness.
“I had a friend on hospice care and I was so impressed with the expert medical and compassionate care provided by the hospice team,” said Prebys. “The Elizabeth Hospice is known for their legendary care in our community and I am proud to support their worthwhile mission.”
“Mr. Prebys’ generous gift will allow The Elizabeth Hospice to fulfill its mission by caring for all of those in need,” said Jan Jones, President and CEO of The Elizabeth Hospice. “We appreciate Mr. Prebys’ ongoing support of hospice and his commitment to our patients and their loved ones during the most critical time in their lives.”
