IlliniCare Health Plan Adds a Suite of Seasoned Executives to its Leadership Team
WESTMONT, Ill., Oct. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — IlliniCare Health Plan (IlliniCare), a subsidiary of Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC), today announced three key appointments to its leadership team.
Lindsey Artola is appointed Vice President of External Affairs. Ms. Artola will oversee government and legislative affairs, advocacy and strengthen development activities throughout IlliniCare. Prior to joining IlliniCare, Ms. Artola came from Presence Health, the largest Catholic health system in Illinois, and was serving as their Chief External Affairs Officer overseeing government affairs, development, and community partnerships and outreach strategies. Ms. Artola earned a Master of Health Science in Health Policy and Administration from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Queens University, Kingston Ontario Canada.
Brian Maude is appointed Vice President of Finance. Prior to joining IlliniCare, Mr. Maude was the Vice President of Finance at Health Net Inc. He led the financial planning and pricing functions for the $3.5 billion Government and Specialty Services Division, containing over 3000 employees with both domestic and international operations. Mr. Maude earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from San Diego State University and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from The George Washington University.
Dr. Neil Sharma, M.D. is appointed Vice President of Medical Affairs, Chief Medical Director. Dr. Sharma will be responsible for the plan’s clinical strategy to improve the health of IlliniCare’s members and to develop and implement innovative quality initiatives with State Leaders and IlliniCare’s network providers. Before joining IlliniCare, Dr. Sharma had a private practice in Geriatric Medicine in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. There he had multiple appointments and directorships. Dr. Sharma pursued his residency at Southern Illinois University where he was appointed Chief Resident. He then completed his fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Illinois, Chicago where he received the “Fellow Clinician of the Year” award.
