Suncoast Rehabilitation Center Earns Perfect Score From State of Florida for Fourth Consecutive Year
Suncoast Rehab Center’s Adult Residential Level II treatment program recently received a performance rating score of 100% for the fourth consecutive year by the Florida Department of Children and Families.
SPRING HILL, Fla., Nov. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — Suncoast Rehab Center (SRC), a Spring Hill drug treatment facility, was awarded a 100% performance rating by the Florida Department of Children & Families (DCF) for the fourth year in a row. The annual inspection determines whether facilities have demonstrated compliances with DCF standards and are eligible for licensing. As a facility dedicated to ending the rise of substance abuse, SRC officials consider it their responsibility to maintain the highest rating for their facility, representing their commitment to maintaining a safe and effective environment for patients.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health (SAMH) Program, a branch within the DCF, is the single state authority on substance abuse and mental health as designated by the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The Department’s SAMH Program oversees a statewide system of care for the prevention, treatment and recovery of children and adults with serious mental illnesses and/or substance abuse disorders (1).
The report of the recent site visit by the DCF included narrative such as:
“The facility promotes a safe and comfortable atmosphere conducive to therapeutic interaction. The facility grounds were neatly kept and provided sufficient space and confidentiality for patient therapy. Suncoast Rehab Center is in compliance with all mandated zoning and occupational licenses.”
Additionally, upon a review of the program, client and personnel records, a performance rating score of 100% was given. Suncoast enables its clients to take the first step in conquering addiction with long-term residential treatment programs, which include:
-- Sauna detoxification that removes drug residues and toxins that cause cravings and relapse; and -- Life skills and cognitive therapy that get to the bottom of the addiction, discovering what caused the drug use in the first place.
Suncoast’s medical team designs treatment programs to physically address the malnutrition created by drug abuse, and the SRC counseling team tailors patient therapy to discovering what caused the drug use in the first place–all intended to help those struggling with addiction learn to confront life better without reverting to drug use.
“SRC’s licensing obligations are for the overall health and success of our clients,” said Tammy Strickling, SRC’s Executive Director. “The state policies incorporate very easily into our own mandates–we’ve managed to build a well-rounded approach to continually upgrading our quality assurance programs so that the clients, as well as their families, experience success–this is what affords us high ratings and compliance.”
Suncoast Rehab Center will continue to offer quality rehabilitation services and proactive drug-prevention education, and to strive to achieve 100% on future inspections by the Florida Department of Children and Families.
