Memphis, TN (PRWEB) December 06, 2013
A Memphis treatment center is launching a new program focused on the problem of binge drinking for people living in Memphis and surrounding cities through Drug Addiction Treatment Centers.
A 2012 report from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services indicates male full-time college students aged 18 to 22 were more likely than their female counterparts to be binge drinkers (45.5 vs. 35.3 percent). The rate of binge drinking among male full-time college students in 2012 was lower than in 2002 to 2007. Among female full-time college students, the rate of binge drinking in 2012 was lower than the rates only in 2002 and 2006.
Binge drinking and alcoholism continue to be a societal problem. The new program at Drug Addiction Treatment Centers focuses on the underlying causes and situations that lead people to drink more than they can handle. Alcoholism is a disease that destroys individuals as well as families.
The program offers a collective style of treatment options for clients. Ultimately, its bottom line is to help all clients leave the addiction treatment center with a structure in place for life outside of it. People come into these types of centers looking either for a new life or relief from their pain, and counselors and therapists on staff are ready to help.
Entering the Memphis rehab center gives clients a new chance to be responsible members of society once again. They come to find themselves, discover new levels of self-esteem, and a spirituality that works.
Once people leave the treatment center, outpatient care and support is strongly suggested by counselors. Transitioning back into the “real world” takes time, too, and outpatient treatment allows clients an opportunity to share their victories and struggles with like-minded people. When it’s all put together, from detoxification to outpatient care, the substance abuse treatment center gives people a second chance.
