Sports Physical Therapy of New York and MedBridge Partner to Improve Patient Outcomes with Evidence-Based Education

January 22, 2014

Sports Physical Therapy of New York and MedBridge announce partnership to leverage evidence-based education to improve patient outcomes.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) January 22, 2014

Sports Physical Therapy of New York (SPTNY), a prominent outpatient physical therapy clinic with 21 locations across New York State, is pleased to announce a new partnership with MedBridge, the rehabilitation industry’s leader in evidence-based online continuing education. The partnership provides powerful educational resources for SPTNY’s team of 70 physical therapists to continually enhance their quality of patient care to improve outcomes.

Through the collaboration, SPTNY’s therapists will use MedBridge’s video library of clinical tests and intervention techniques as “point of care learning” tools to quickly reference effective ways to assess and treat each patient. Therapists will also help patients understand their diagnoses using MedBridge’s growing library of patient education resources, including a video collection of 3D-animated conditions. Research shows that patients who are more informed have a better patient care experience, play a more active role in their own rehabilitation process, and as a result, enjoy better outcomes ("Health Policy Brief: Patient Engagement," Health Affairs, February 14, 2013).

With access to the latest research and evidence-based education via MedBridge, the SPTNY team will continue to advance the high caliber of treatment provided to their patients.

“MedBridge was an obvious choice to elevate our level of education,” said Drew Jenk, PT, DPT, Regional Clinical Director of SPTNY. “The availability of quality programs, visual images, and access to the best educators both nationally and internationally will only help to make us the premier provider of outstanding evidence-based physical therapy services.”

“We’re excited about the partnership as SPTNY is focused on continually elevating their approach to patient care with ongoing learning,” said Justin Kowalchuk, CEO and Founder of MedBridge. “Their vision is aligned with one of our main goals as a company, which is to create quality education that directly improves patient outcomes.”
