Hundreds of thousands of fully characterized clinical specimen now available for research and product development needs

(“BCW”) announced today the release of over 200,000 clinically characterized specimen available for research and development purposes. For over 13 years, BCW has been performing Blood Collection Protocols (BCPs) for infectious diseases and other clinical diagnostic markets. These protocols have been performed at BCW’s worldwide subsidiaries as well as through its network of collection partners.

BCW currently holds a wide-ranged inventory of plasma, serum and other matrices that have been assayed and characterized using FDA and IVD clinical diagnostic products. These matrices have been collected globally and include rare subtypes and genotypes of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Hepatitis in addition to other infectious disease markers.
BCW also operates its own CLIA certified and COLA accredited clinical laboratory with numerous capabilities including molecular diagnostics, virology and serology testing. The laboratory is staffed with medical technologists and operates multiple shifts to meet demanding turn-around times. This laboratory operates BCW’s bio-mining program, which further tests specimen for other disease states and clinical markers.
