The Mutter Museum, part of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, is planning a slate of Halloween events that complement its grisly exhibits.

Home to dried severed hands, an ovarian cyst larger than a soccer ball and a wide array of abnormal specimens, the museum said it plans to present a screening of the cult thriller The Doctor and the Devils, as well as a lecture called Organ Procurement: Urban Legends and Other Tales From the Dark Side of Organ Transplantation.

Also on the schedule is a talk given by Dana Kollmann, author of Never Suck a Dead Man’s Hand: Curious Adventures of a CSI.

Kollman is expected to discuss her experiences as a crime scene investigator for the Baltimore County Police Department.

The museum, which was founded to educate future doctors about anatomy and human medical anomalies, now serves as a resource for educating and enlightening the public about their medical past.

Special Halloween hours are Monday, Oct. 29 through Wednesday, Oct. 31, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
